NEW PARTNERSHIP ALERT

Lagos Economic Action Programme (LEAP)

FirstHome Mortgage Brokers Ltd have embarked on an exciting and dynamic new urban regeneration project, which will provide housing, business, investment, employment and social facilities for residents of Lagos, visitors and investors.

Under the title and platform of Lagos Economic Action Programme (LEAP), the company has established new and innovative services for its clients. In early 2022, FirstHome Mortgage Brokers will be launching LEAP, providing a number of fintech services, which will enable the company to significantly improve the quality and number of its on line professional and financial services /products to clients.

As a backdrop to this facility, working with local and international partners, we have designed a unique project, which will bring together local people (with latent and vibrant talent) to realize their full potential and drive economic growth within urban Lagos.

LEAP is a multi-faceted initiative. It will implement the following projects

Acquisition of land in Lagos Development and construction of affordable homes Design and implementation of an innovation and technology center, to support young entrepreneurs, provide business incubation services, accommodation access to finance, technology and digital support Establishment of a community center, providing healthcare to women, young children and nursery provision for infants.

The programme is led by Mrs. Olajumoke Fashanu, our Managing Director. Ably supported by her management and sales teams, Olajumoke has inspired a stratospheric vision to improve the quality of life for local people, by improving socio-economic facilities.

The FirstHome team are supported daily by economic development practitioners in London, UK, who have successfully implemented numerous projects worth over N1.1 trillion naira (£2 billion UK pounds), using modern state-of the art project design methods and technologies

This programme therefore will provide much needed housing stock, deliver technical and development support for the growing number of local businesses, generate direct employment for young Lagosians and provide improved care for mothers and children in Lagos.

The Rationale For This Project

The economic backdrop to this venture can be summarized by the following facts:-

Lagos is one of the fastest growing cities in the world, with the population expected to grow by 30% by 2050. Nigeria is leading the way with procuring investment in the fintech and digital sectors, with over $160 million dollars investment secured in the last year, even accounting for the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are now developing key strategic and operational partnerships, (locally and internationally) in order to deliver this bold vision. We will work closely with Lagos State Government and adhere to regulatory and statutory requirements, to ensure project delivery to the highest, exacting international standards.

We will work closely also with key local organizations, including the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and other professional bodies.

Further announcements about LEAP will be made by the end of the year and a full programme of activities will be published soon. A dedicated project office will be set up within FirstHome, such details to be available shortly. We very much look forward to working with local people in delivering this ground breaking project.
